4 weeks old!

Wow, where does the time go. A girl from my old ward made a statement that was so true. She said, "why can't the first nine months in go as fast as the first nine months out!" So true. However, I wish it went as slow as the nine months in. I can't believe how fast 4 weeks has flown by. I am so in love with my new little man. I look forward to all the fun stages to come, but I hate how fast babies grow. Teagan has brought so much joy to our family. He is a great eater, never cries (plenty of grunting), is so sweet, and not so much a great sleeper yet. I am sure I ruined that one! Teagan will be one month old on Christmas Eve. Where did December go? I need to get done with Christmas preparation!

A buddy for Teagan

My cousin Natalie and I always use to talk about how much fun it would be to raise our kids together. Well, it is finally happening. Chase and Teagan are only about 8 weeks apart in age. They will have so much fun together. I hope we continue to see them often because unless Trevor and Heather get on it (wink wink), then my children won't have any cousins their age!
Here are the cute little guys! Teagan decided to use his buddy as a pillow for his nap. He wasn't too interested in their first photo shoot as buddies! They are so stinkin' cute aren't they?

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

I believe that this is their 26th Anniversary (I have now been informed it is the 27th!) I am so grateful to have such wonderful parents and for their great examples. They have taught me so many things and have been there for every aspect of my life. I consider them good friends now that I am older and wiser than I was in those teen years. I honestly don't know where I would be or what I would do without them. I want to thank them for still being married. Doesn't seem like the popular thing to do these days. I remember when I was little and they would get into little "married couple" arguments. I remember being so nervous that they would get divorced. Turns out, everyone has disagreements and I was being a little dramatic. I wouldn't trade having them married for anything in the world. Happy Anniversary and we love you!

What's the big giveaway!

So first off, people can be sooooo weird. My friends and I have been pretty appalled lately at people's comments during pregnancy. I have had a couple friends be asked if they were having multiples and in my opinion, you don't mess with a hormonal pregnant woman! Anyways, so here's my great random comment. I am checking out at Walmart last night and in quite a hurry. The lady is very intrigued by my newborn. She keeps staring at him in his stroller, asking several questions, and in the meantime, forgetting to do her job, cashiering! As we were finally finishing up she says, "You're nursing, I can tell." I am quite confused and just look at her and she says, "aren't you?" I simply say, "Yes, bye, have a good night!" Okay, what in the heck. I look down at myself, look at Teagan, and still leave all confused. I don't know what in the world she was talking about! Ahh, some people!

Hey Santa...

We took the boys to go see Santa on Thursday night. As you can see it was action packed. No crying from either of the guys and Santa was pretty emotionless as well. We got in, got the pictures taken and got out, and that was about all there was to it. Santa asked Hayd what he wanted for Christmas and with a single emotionless word he said "toys". "Toys it will be" said Santa. It was truly a riveting experience. We'll see if we can get a few more smiles from the guys next year.

He's Here!

For all those anxiously awaiting some pics of the new man in my life, here they are. Teagan was born on Monday November 24, 2008 at 6:58 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long. Not too far off from his brother who was 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. I have to laugh at all who told me the second was easier. Yes, there were parts that were, but who would have known that the epideral wouldn't work and I would go from a 6 to 10 in about 2 minutes! Crazy but such an awesome experience nonetheless. I am so in love with him and surprisingly enough, so is Hayden. He has been so cute with his brother. I will do some longer posts with more pictures later. I have been a little bit busy!

Last night as a family of three!

So I have several emotions going through my head right now but mostly just excited to become a mother to two and a family of four. I can't believe it came so fast and I am just so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a mom. I am scheduled to be induced tomorrow but we haven't been given a time yet. I will await the call from 5 am on in the morning. We'll keep everyone updated!

Baby Celebration!

Some friends and I have started doing a little tradition of going to dinner, having dessert, and giving gifts in celebration of a second baby. It's basically a "shower" but us Utahn's aren't so big on the whole second child shower thing. This has been fun and really is a great excuse just to get together. Last night was my big night. I was so excited all day and it was such a blast! I have some really fun, cute, and generous friends. We all met at Training Table for some delicious dinner (aka: cheese fries) and then went to Kacey's and had some scrumptious trifle dessert that Keri made. I received some awesome gifts as well. I am so lucky! We stayed out WAY late. I know Steve tried to kick us out a couple times but hey, most of us had no children and were enjoying the company. Thank you ladies.
At double T. I believe all our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We ordered a TON of cheese fries and they didn't all get eaten. Of course, look at my plate, sandwich gone and MOST of the fries gone too! I better get this child out of me before my appetite grows any heftier.MaryAnn and Rosemary. Don't worry Rosie, your boyfriend will be arriving in 5 short days, hopefully!
Chillin at the Gardner residence. Always a good party place. Just take note that most get togethers have been here lately. I am so appreciative. There is only 4 houses in between our houses and lately, stays a little cleaner. Thank you Kacey for being at least 5 weeks behind me!
I know MaryAnn will not love that this is the picture I chose because she wasn't ready, but I have to get Landon in there. He is way too cute! All the gals except the one's who couldn't make it (obviously). Also, Kim had to leave after dinner. We missed you for dessert! Four of us are prego, can ya tell! Yeah, there is usually a lot of estrogen and hormomes in the room at these little things.

Silly ol' widget!

So I was just looking at that silly widget on the side of my blog and thinking, "oh, yeah right." For those of you out there who have never been pregnant, the baby does not peacefully float around in circles all day. In fact, today, my little guy has been jammed up my ribs on the right side for hours and hours now! They sit on all your organs and once in awhile give you a good old kick to remind you they are still in there. I do love the kicks, however, the rib thing is really painful right now. So one week from today hopefully. I can't believe it!

8 Days To Go

We're almost ready! We got the nursery painted and put together this week and organized some of the toys and clothes and stuff. (Well, I should say Robyn organized some of the toys and clothes) She is scheduled for an induction on Monday, a week from tomorrow. But there are a few things that have to happen in order for us to be induced. Hopefully all goes as planned and we can have the little guy on Monday.

We'll see!!!

It wasn't me!

So now that both my husband and child have matching battle wounds, I would like to put a disclaimer out there that I don't hurt my family. Hayden's accident has already been posted about and Brian's happened on Saturday night during a basketball tournament. Man these sports can get out of hand. He got poked/scratched (he wasn't too sure what happened) as well as injuring his knee. It has been pretty embarrassing to be in public with these two. My mom told me, "it wouldn't be too far fetched to say you did it, you are 9 months pregnant!" HaHa! I love my boys too much but it makes for a good story if I need one!

Ouch!

My poor little Hayden had quite the fall yesterday. He was trying to climb a rod iron chair in Rich's Bagels and the climb didn't turn out so well. We heard a smack on the hard floor and looked over and saw the chair on top of Hayden. My friend, not being pregnant, ran over to the rescue as I waddled behind. When we pulled the chair off of him, his eyebrow was bleeding bad. We tried as best as we could to keep napkins on it while he screamed and tried to pull our hands away. It finally stopped and asked opinions as to whether I should take him to get stitches. We decided it was fine for the moment. I kept him awake for a couple hours because he had a double smack to the head and didn't want him to have a concussion. It wasn't easy as it was nap time. After awhile I decided to take him to my mom's work for several other opinions. I finally decided to take him to his pediatricians office to get some expert advice. His pediatrician was not in that day but I had a couple of nurses and a couple of doctors look at it. They told me the only way to get it stitched up would be to take him to Primary's and have them papoose him and sedate him. I was not up for that and knew Hayden wasn't either. They told me no matter what, it would scar so the only benefit to stitches would be less scarring and less risk of infection. We finally made a decision to have the doctor clean in up and glue it together there in the office. Hayden of course hated the idea, but it worked. I feel good about what they did, but terrible about the whole incident.

Hayden saw a man there at the office who pretended to be Santa. We saw him on the way in and on the way out. He was very sweet to Hayden and after we left he said, "Bye Santa Claus!" He then told me that Santa "feel better." I am not quite sure whether he was trying to tell me that Santa made him feel better or that he was at the hospital to feel better. Either way it was cute. He also told me, "Don't yike that one," as he pointed to the building while I was putting him in the car. "Check baby brother one!" He was telling me that he much preferred the doctor's office that mommy goes to to check on brother. Too funny.

As for that update, I am 19 days away from induction but I have made no progress as far as my cervix. The doctor reviewed my notes from Hayden and said that it wasn't until next weeks visit with him that I was even doing anything. I am still not too worried, just slightly disappointed.

Halloween 2008

Halloween was pretty fun this year. We enjoyed lots of different festivities. Hayden was not so in love with the whole "Halloween Scene", but enjoyed dressing up. He made the cutest little cowboy ever. I still need a video of him saying cowboy and telling me what they say.
Here he is on Halloween night right before we headed out trick-or-treating. It was nice trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. The houses in our little area are pretty close together which made it go quick. Only problem, lots of people are young like us and probably headed to the Grandparents. Lot's of non-homers. Hayden was very controlled while picking candy. He would nicely take one and when told he could take more, he usually wouldn't. I, as the mom and pregnant lady, was a bit disappointed.
This was the night of my parents trunk-or-treat. This was the first one I had every been to and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Hayden was overwhelmed with the fact people were freely handing over a bunch of candy but finally got the hang of it.
Had to get a full body shot in here. He didn't love the boots. He says they hurt his feet. He definitely has Lund feet. He wouldn't walk a whole lot in them but I didn't have to carry him once while trick-or-treating in our own neighborhood.
Here we are carving pumpkins as a family night activity. We had the Scotts and Gardners over. We ended up with some pretty cool jack-o-lanterns.
Of course everyone living in Daybreak has the pumpkin patch pictures. We of course, chose to go on the coldest day in October. We didn't spend long there but had to take our photo opportunities seriously.
Hayden did like sitting on the tractors.
I look awkward but we don't get many family pictures so here it is.And here we are really getting our pumpkins. Let's just say they were significantly cheaper here at...

My peculiar child

So Hayden has always had a meticulous personality and some pretty funny quirks. He is a perfectionist and things should never be out of place. He is also a pretty big neat freak. Not always a bad thing. Here are some of his latest Haydenisms.
Hayden goes to a toddler craft class every Monday. This is one of the crafts he made a couple of weeks ago. Well, Hayden has never been okay with the fact that his monster pillow only has one eye. He always tells me, "not done mommy." He always wants me to put another eye on it. Too funny!
This is his kids meal prize from Carls Junior. I hate cheap toys by the way. I can't wait till they break or get forgotten about until they go in the trash. We have plenty of decent toys around the house. Anyways, Hayden kept telling me, "not working mom," "stand up mom." He hated the fact that Igor was slumped over. I kept trying to tell him his back was broken and other excuses but he was just frustrated. This was just not right! I love that he is such a peculiar child. He keeps me laughing constantly!

For He's a Jolly Good Fellow!

My sweet husband turns 27 today! Wow, I know. I can't believe it. Happy Birthday Babe. I love you so much. I hope that we can make your day a special one. You deserve it.

The title is Brian's trademark while singing the birthday song. I used to get embarrassed, but I love it and would miss it if he forgot to do it.

Last night we celebrated Brian's big day with our friends. It was such a blast going to dinner at Training Table (mmmm, cheese fries). Then we headed to the Gardner's for some cake and ice cream. The Gardners are so generous to offer their house. We had just gotten into town that morning and Brian was working on something with a friend and I had a shower. I obviously had no time to prepare my house. Thanks a bunch guys! We played loaded questions after the delicious ice cream and cake (the second one, don't ask, it was a disaster.) I still love ya Bri! I can laugh about it now. Thanks to all who were able to make it. He says he had a blast.
The cake. I am just so relieved that we were able to have cake after all!
I hope he wished for something good!
Look at these three stooges. How cute are they? I gave them each their own cake and they went to town. It was hilarious to watch them "attack" the cake.
What little gentelment to clean up themselves.
Here we are playing our game. This is Ryan and Melanie Miller, our neighbors. Max is their son and Melanie is scheduled to be induced this Wednesday. What a trooper to still join us.
Ryan, MaryAnn, and Rosemary just hanging out while playing our game.
Craig and Danielle. She is a trooper too. I hope you start feeling better soon. And of course, the Gardners. Of course we couldn't get away without a goofy picture on Steve's part. What fun would that be? Thanks again for hosting the shindig!

Some people left before I remembered to get out the camera. We have the best friends in the world. We consider this a huge blessing. Everyone of our friends adds something special to our lives. Thanks to everyone again for coming. It was a fun night.

Weekend Getaway

This past weekend my parents wanted to take off for a little getaway. Originally we were going to go to Disneyland but they didn't think I would want to do all that walking. They were certainly right. I didn't realize how uncomfortable I would be at this stage. Then we were thinking Yellowstone. Well, it was going to be 50 degrees tops. We settled for a little trip to Park City. Hayden was on his best "2 year old temper tantrum galore" behavior. I was lucky to have my parents and Trenton there to help the first day until Brian came. I am sure they didn't feel quite as fortunate. Regardless, it was fun to get out of town for a couple nights.
Hayden refused to sit by this frog unless "Uncle Tenton" was sitting with him.
This is Hayden getting ready for swimming. He thought it was pretty hilarious to wear the swim diaper on his head.
I decided to spare a few laughs and not even attempt to put on my swimsuit. Luckily Hayden's Papa is always willing to do whatever Hayden wants. Him and Trenton were his swim partners on this trip. Trevor and Grandma joined in later that night.
This is another fabulous picture of my toddler doing what he does best. Hayden was on one at dinner the last night and I was in no condition to fight him. He is on top of our bench in the corner. This kept him quite and nobody around seemed to notice.

Thanks Mom and Dad for another fun family vacation!

This is the way we roll

This is just another one of those things. I attempt to take Hayden shopping because I really don't have a choice and this is usually what happens. I lose battles such as these. I really didn't want him to wear a football helmet while we were grocery shopping, but it was just not worth the fight. In fact, I am so exhausted these days, most things aren't. We did get quite a few pointing fingers, laughs, and comments from people. I guess it is pretty cute. Hayden loves his Utes helmet (it's actually my brother's from when he was little.) And of course he has to have the firetruck grocery cart. The thing I don't have a picture of is when I ended up carrying Hayden the rest of our shopping trip, pushing this honkin huge cart full of groceries around. Needless to say, if I do have this baby early, it needs no explanation as to why.

My Cowboy

Brian decided that for Halloween, Hayden should be a cowboy. He already had the boots, so why not! We have been piecing the costume together piece by piece and my wonderful mom was the one who found the hat. Well, the hat is a staple in Hayden's wardrobe now. He loves this hat and will wear it anywhere and everywhere. There was no waiting for the actual day. Here are a couple of shots with Hayden and his cowboy hat. Here he is doing his "model cowboy" shots.
Hayden will tell you a cowboys says, "Yee haw" It sounds half donkey. It is pretty hilarious. Maybe I can try and get a video of that.
Having a 2 year old can bring many laughs and challenges. Yesterday while trying to head out the door for church, this is what I found. He came up to me and said, "Go, mom!" I said, "Oh you are ready to go." He told me "Uh huh." Well, it took quite the persuasion to get the hat off, hair done, and exchange the slippers for church shoes. He calls his slippers "Dragon-Tales slippers." He watches way too much T.V. these days!

Heatlh Fair

There was a health fair at the South Jordan community center today. The Millers (my neighbors) and Hayden and I went to see what it was all about. The boys love firetrucks right now and they had one there that they could actually sit in. Hayden was really hesitant at first, but loved it once he got in.
Hanging out in the firetruck.
What cute boys.
On the front of the truck. These are the only pictures we got at the fair. This was the only picture worthy thing there. We got a lot of free junk and hey, we got out of the house.
