Easter

Easter this year was funner as is all Holidays with a toddler who actually understands and appreciates the things you do for them. I woke up on Saturday morning wondering if I should attempt the traditional morning egg hunt. First off, I wish it was an actual egg hunt instead of a candy explosion on a field of wet grass. I wasn't going to go because the weather wasn't that great, Brian was of course working, and it was early. I started feeling guilty because I remember the hunts as a kid. It was a tradition. So much that I even prayed as a kid one rainy morning that the rain would stop just long enough for the egg hunt to be held. Low and behold, my prayers were answered and I was one happy kiddo. I thought that just because Brian couldn't come, I should still make things fun for my kids and carry on some traditions. I woke a sleeping Hayden, got the 3 of us ready, and Brian called and told me he had got off early. I was so excited. Because we weren't running as early as I had thought, I dropped of Hayden and Brian so I could go park. Just as I was about to the field, the fire engine siren went off. I missed the action. Of course! Oh well, I guess. After the hunt, we met the Gardners at Village Inn for some delicious breakfast. Fun Day.

On Sunday we woke up, did the whole basket, egg finding, ate breakfast, and rushed to get ready for church. I decided not to rush and get ready for 9:00 church. Instead, we took our time and then went to my parents ward for Sacrament meeting. I just had to show off my boys in their matching seersucker jackets. Later on my mom did her Easter for Hayden and the rest of us. It was a good day.

Oh yes, I am very grateful for the true meaning of Easter as well.
It would have been ideal if Hayden had actually been in the right age group. Leave it to a man to just go to the first group he sees and not even bother noticing all the kids are HUGE! I don't know why exactly he decided to take a picture of him standing by the sign!
Once he got the hang of it, he kind of liked the idea.
Free Candy!
Anyone who knows Hayden knows this face. It is the whiny, "HELP ME" face. Cute though.
Smile!
Sunday morning. Here is his loot.Teagan in on the action. Mostly just watching Hayden. He did get a basket but he didn't feel like finding any eggs.
Hayden searching high and low.I think he found a total of 43 eggs. Not bad!During breakfast I looked over to find Teagan's loot on top of him in the swing. Thank you Hayden! He thought it was tasty.Family photo time. Ahh, matchy matchy. This is Hayden with his Spider from Grandma. He has a really weird love/hate relationship with spiders and bugs lately. He talks constantly about them, asks if you like them, tells you they're nice, etc. As soon as he actually sees one, he clings onto you for dear life, screams like a girl, and refuses to let you put him down. My two brothers in the mission field have both sent home pictures that have interested Hayden. Jon had a dead tarantula on his shoulder (totally out of his element) and when we told Jeremy how much he loved this picture, he sent of picture of a crab on his head (totally in his element). Hayden is imitating both of them.We dyed Easter eggs at my moms house the week before and Hayden got to find them on Easter. He loves all the attention he gets at my parents house.

My Birthday

The big 24 was a bit of a doozy this year! I had planned a friend dinner for Friday night, April 3rd, because Priesthood was Saturday night. Well, I got really depressed when I learned that nobody could make it. I shouldn't say nobody. The Gardners are always there, regardless. At one point I thought maybe Brian was planning a surprise party because everyone had an excuse not to be there. Some were legit, others were not. I was just going to bag the whole thing but Kacey talked me into going still. I LOVE KACEY! I ended up having a pretty good time. I dropped my kids off at my parents and we were off to Applebees. We ate a delicious meal and then I decided I wanted to go shopping at T.J. Maxx. While shopping, I get "the call." Teagan was EXTREMELY upset and unconsoleable. He would not take my milk from the bottle yet again. My parents were so kind to bring him to us so we could continue our date. After making a small purchase, we went to Kacey's parents to shoot pool and watch "The Devil Wears Prada." Brian wanted to leave before the movie was over so that was LAME! It was a fun night anyways and I thank the Gardners for being such loyal friends. I wish I had taken more pictures but I think I would have looked "not so happy" in most of them.

My actual birthday wasn't too much better. I woke up to this:
And baked myself this:

Because my husband was working until 2. We then decided to take Hayden to the Monsters vs. Aliens movie. That was HILARIOUS! I loved it and so did Hayden, Teagan, & even Gavin (The Gardners came with us).

After that, the boys headed off to Priesthood. What a day to have Priesthood! My dear Grandpa dropped off my senile Grandma off at my mom's while all the boys took off. Just as I thought us gals were going to do something fun, we get left babysitting Nancy who continually asks me the same questions over and over and over and over and over! I love my Grandma but there is a good reason I moved out of her house. She is loveable from a reasonable distance. I decided I wasn't going to sit around. My mom offered to watch a sleeping Hayden and a "just fed Teagan" while I ran to Target. A kid free trip but grocery shopping nonetheless. I ran to Olive Garden to be put on the 80-90 minute waiting list. After the boys were done we all went and enjoyed a very high calorie dinner. So, it didn't turn out too bad, but I keep telling myself, better luck next year! Also, just like Valentines Day, I will stop making it such a big deal so I don't end up disappointed year after year. For Heaven sakes, I AM 24!

Teagan 4 months

Wow, this is way overdue. Teagan was 4 months on the 24th of March. His appointment was on the 1st of April and here are his stats: 26 3/4 inches long, 15 lbs 9 oz. He is a big boy. He is in the 90-95th percentile for height and I think about 80th for weight. His head is still small but she said it is growing along the right curve so I am not worried. He is able to roll and has done it several times on his own. He can sit for short periods of time and LOVES to stand up. His thighs are the cutest little (so they aren't little but are rather large) things. He is very vocal and will talk at any opportune moment. He has become more and more intrigued by his older brother. If he can see him, he is smiling from ear to ear. Hayden doesn't have to do much to get him to giggle either. It is absolutely adorable and something that really touches me as their mom. Teagan is still a major Momma's boy! I do love it most of the time but is still un-leavable. He will just nuzzle right into me and is content just chillin on my lap doing whatever I am doing.

Most of his pictures this month included him with his fingers in his mouth. I think it's cute considering that's how you find him most of the time anyways.
His eyes still melt me everytime I look into them!
This one is my favorite from this batch. Mr. Tough Guy!
He has started to grab and play with his feet. I love when babies do this. Especially when their butt is in the air.
I think he will crawl a LOT sooner than Hayden because he doesn't mind being on his tummy as much as Hayden did. Plus, he is already anxious to get down and busy with his big bro!
(For all those with unclean minds, I mean he wants to play!)

P.T.P

That there stands for Potty Training Progress. While I type my son is currently sitting in the living room stark naked watching cartoons as he paces back and forth umcomfortably. I have his throne sitting right next to him in hopes that he will get over this fear of #2!

This has gone on for far too long. He has only done it once and apparently you CAN get TOO excited! I must have ruined the moment. I must say that I was a happier, more patient mother when I wasn't potty training. I have become so frustrated lately and am at my wits end.
(I just took a break because HE DID IT!) Wow, what timing huh! I just hope it sticks because I have tried it all!

I have learned that parenting can go two ways, bribe or threats.  I have tried BOTH!  I have been flaunting the same fun dip candy in his face for weeks and nothing.  I have told him we could pick out a new toy, nothing.  I have fake conversations with his Doctor on the phone, I turn off the t.v. and use it as a threat or bribe, I threaten time out (which doesn't seem to bother him in the least bit), tell him not to "go" on the characters on his underwear or pull-up.  NOTHING WORKS!  I am beginning to think he may be too wise to potty train and here are a couple situations that have proven it:

Situation 1:

I got after him the other day about having an accident.  I was frustrated but trying not to raise my voice too much.  I was explaining myself while I made him sit on his potty and he looked up at me and said, "Shh, just calm down, calm down mom, just caaaalm down!"  That only made me more frustrated.

Situation 2:

Today after trying numerous times to get him to go while Teagan is also screaming at me, I decide to feed Teagan on the couch while still supervising Hayden.  After he is fed, I place a wrapped up (no free arms) baby Teagan on the couch while I go help Hayden.  Well, you probably guessed it, we had Teagan's first fall off the couch!  I don't have any idea how and he has only rolled completely a couple times on his own.  While trying to console him, Hayden pretends to get bucked off the toilet and tells me "my toilet knocked me off!"  I was fed up and thought he could use a little quiet time in his room when he tells me that his chocolate milk pushed him over!  What an imagination.  He comes up with some pretty funny things this kid.

I am just trying to push this potty training thing along so we can work on the binky.  Any suggestions (from experienced mothers) is greatly appreciated.  I know how I will pull the binky but the potty training thing has got me.  I don't know what will work.  I have tried a chart, candy rewards, and all other things mentioned above!  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

As for Teagan, I think he was startled more than anything.  I am also grateful it wasn't our bed and that he didn't hit anything like Hayden did when he fell off our bed.  Man, the whole situations still makes me feel like a horrible mom.  I am just glad I am not the only one out there that has experienced this!

The boy has arms, I promise!

I think he forgets that he has arms to help him move around and play with the toys. I just look at him wiggling around like a worm and find his arms right by his legs in the leg holes. Funny baby!

My Couch Potatoes

I know it must look terrible but it doesn't happen oftten and I promise I am a good mom. These pictures are just to cute not to share.
Tummy time for Teagan

I just love the side profile. Too funny. They look like "mini me Brian's."

David Archuleta, YEAH!

So yes, I am amongst the many fans who couldn't await David's concert. I am in love with this kid and am so sad he is a "kid." Yes, I am married but one can dream right? No, I really do just love his powerful voice and passion for singing. He is such an innocent little guy! I hope that he can stay that way being in the music industry. My mom bought me a ticket as an early birthday present because I knew Brian wouldn't be too excited about the purchase. We bought the tickets before knowing Teagan would have major separation anxiety. I was super concerned about how Teagan would act for the hours I would be gone. I even tried to give my beloved ticket away to my cousin who later declined. I decided to have Brian meet me for the dinner portion of our evening and then feed Teagan right before he took them home. I had also pumped some milk for him which Brian "syringed" to him later. The concert was fun and Brian did very well keeping the boys, especially Teagan, happy and taken care of. Here are some pictures of the night!
First off, since when was oval shaped hair in style! This picture doesn't even do it justice. I had a hard time focusing on the concert at times because this girl sat right in front of me and all I could think about is, "oval hair, oval hair!"The gang.
I went with my mom and Brother Trenton. Our neighbors Lorilee and Tanner (who is basically my other brother from another mother) came too. It was a good time.Group shot from another angle. Mother Teresa wanted to have record she was there. J/K mom! When he first came out.
Here is a video of him singing "Crush"

Handsome Tie Brothers

This is just after church one Sunday when my boys were dressed up so handsome. I had to get a couple pictures with my little camera (sorry the pictures aren't very good) before we got them in their comfy clothes.

Look what the wind blew in...

A couple of weeks ago the lovely wind blew more sagebrush in than I have ever seen in my life. Our alley was covered in this ugly stuff. Funny thing is, some residence were calling the builders to see what they were going to do about this crap. Sorry if any of my neighbors are reading this but I thought that was ridiculous! It's like my parents looking up the builder of their house and wondering what they are going to do about some trash or leaves that blew into their yard. Some people! I guess I would have been a little more angry if I couldn't get in or out of my driveway...

P.S. may I add that I am tired of wind, rain, and snow! I am literally getting seasonal depression. COME OUT SUN!
