Good Ol' Family Reunion

Over the 24h of July, the Lund family always has a reunion. We go to Brian's uncle's property up in Morgan. It is a beautiful place with a river running through the back, a playground for the kids, lots of grass, etc. It's a perfect place for camping. This is my fourth year going up there and Brian has been going for as long as he can remember. Despite the fact that everyone was eaten alive by mosquitoes, we all had a pretty good time.
Here are my cute nieces Addie, Blair (holding Hayden), Shelby, Rachel, nephew Cooper, and a distant relative in the background. I honestly don't know what I would do on these trips without them. They are a huge help with Hayden and he absolutely loves his cousins. He would go through and name them all if we were all just chillin.
So once again, not a fan of the cold water. Although you can't see it, his toes are touching the water and he hated it!
Trying to calm down after a quick foot dip.
I wish I could have taken Kinley home with me to be Hayden's twin sister. She is such a doll. Hayden and Kinley are about 2 months apart in age and both very blond with bright blue eyes. They have a good time together at the reunion. Kinley is Brian's cousin Heather's youngest girl.
Kinley was such a good helper when it came picture time. She poked Hayden and said, "Mom, picture," as she pointed in my direction. Well, it worked, they are both looking!
The tubes they use to float down the river are always a huge hit in or out of the water. This kept Hayden entertained for hours sometimes.
After "treasure hunting" the kiddos all awaited their prize.
Hayden with his loot from the treasure hunt. Mmmmm, yummy!

Pool Time.

So after about 5 trips to our new pool, I decided it was finally time to take the camera. Hayden is quite the little fish. He has definitely turned a new leaf since he turned 2. He is so brave and adventurous. I thought he was always going to be mellow, easy going, and a little bit timid. Oh no! That is not Hayden anymore but I actually am loving every moment of his adventurous, brave, outgoing personality. Hayden loves "simming." He even loves wearing his life jacket which is a must the way he swims. He will count to 5 and then jump all the way in without having arms outreached to catch him, he does monkey moves on the handrails in the pool, walks on his hands in the shallow end, swallows gallons of water, turns in circles in the water, goes underneath completely without panicking and getting upset, etc. I keep a very close eye on this one while at the pool. Funny how we couldn't get him to touch the water in Lake Powell. Germaphobia?
Unfortunatley, none of my photos at the pool were big action shots, but cute nonetheless. This is Hayden with his friend Maxwell who lives about 3 houses down from us. Max is only 6 weeks younger than Hayden and they play really well. We have made so many great friends while living here.
Hayden hanging on to one of the poles. Pole Dancing, here we come! Not!
They boys just chillin during a pool check. They blow the whistle every hour on the hour to check the pool. I appreciate that completely and it's a good excuse to sneak in a snack even if they say food isn't allowed! I am a pregnant, starving woman, lay off me!
Max always has such a cute concerned, serious face on. I absolutely love it. I could watch Hayden play all day with his friends. They are so funny when they interact with each other. Not to mention the fact that it gives me a little breather.

Just for the heck of it!

This seemed like fun so I decided to do it for the heck of it. I am curious to see what people remember. You can post a memory that you had with me, Brian, or Hayden. Share it all!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, if we've actually met in person or not, anything you remember!

2. Next, repost these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

4th of July!

So I know it's a little late but my computer has been acting up again and won't let me view my own blog. However, it will let me make a new post so I decided to post about our 4th of July. It is one of my favorite holidays because it is usually warm, I love patriotic songs, I enjoy our family tradition of going to the sandy parade, having a barbecue, doing our own fireworks, and watching Sandy's big fireworks. I enjoy being with my extended family and having the feeling that everyone is united this one day to celebrate our freedom.

Our day started off with Brian, Trevor, Trenton, and Tanner running the Sandy 5K. Here is Brian coming into the finish line.
Here are the proud boys. This was Tanner's (Trenton's friend) first time running a 5K. He did very well finishing about 12th in his age group. Brian finished first in his age group, Trevor was 2nd, and Trenton beat his last 5K race time. Whahoo Boys!
Here is our cute little family. Of course we had to drag ourselves out of bed for this event so we are looking the part. In fact, when we woke Hayden up he kept screaming, "No, no, I seeping!" And when we were loading into the car he said, "My bed!". Poor kid. He enjoyed it once we were there and really enjoyed daddy's prize. He thought he should wear it.
Here are my boys at the parade. We shaved both of their heads for Lake Powell so here they are sporting their doos as well.
Hayden and Great-Grandma watching our own firework show. Hayden absolutely loves his Great-Grandma. It probably has something to do with the fact that she gives him absolutely everything, plays everything, sings to him, let's him drag her around everywhere, and most the time, she forgets she did all that and starts the whole process over again. We love our Grandma Neilson!
Happy Hayden watching the fireworks.
Presley and Amy watching the fireworks.
Presley came to represent the King family. Although she had no choice, we are very proud of her decision to join us instead of going to the Hannah Montana concert with the rest of her family.Presley is the cutest little baby girl ever. I just love her big, bright, blue eyes. She was very amused by the fireworks. She wasn't sure whether she should watch our's or the neighbor's.Here is Hayden and his Papa at the big firework show. Despite my efforts to get him to sit next to me, he preferred his Grandpa of course!
My handsome hubby enjoying the firework show.
I made it into the pictures. Yes! No, really I don't mind that I don't have a billion pictures of myself, but it is nice to make it into a few so people know I was actually in existence.
Hayden and Papa again.Hayden and his mommy enjoying some "short lived" time together at the fireworks before he had to go sit by Papa again.

Lake Powell

Here are the pictures from Lake Powell this year. We had a blast despite having a broken generator, being pregnant, having some of "our meal" food go moldy, listening to our carbon monoxide alarm go off every half hour, and having a toddler who didn't want to even be near the water. It's always fun to go spend a week in Powell with Brian's family. We don't get together too often so it's nice to be re-acquainted with all of them. Hayden was such a good boy with his Rachel and Ellie around. He is not only more entertained, but he ate so good on the trip. Thank you Lund Family! The kiddos found this cupboard in our room and loved hiding and popping out of it.
Here they are popping out of it.
Hayden loved the seadoos but he thought they were called "bikes". He loved when his Daddy took him out for "bike rides".
Hayden and Daddy riding the waves.
Here's our little swimsuit family. Luckily I wasn't too huge so I still felt okay sporting the prego belly in a swimsuit.
One source of entertainment for Hayden was the hose at the front of the boat. He just sprayed himself, others, and other things around to keep himself cool and busy.
Although I was told to lay off all activities, Brian was still able to participate in everything. I enjoy watching him wakeboard and landlock.
Hayden also liked "jumping" on the water trampoline. He even tried the slide and thought that was a pretty good time.
Hayden Jumping away. Brian is laying down on there somewhere.
Ellie, Hayden, and Rachel playing in the sand.
Another picture of the boys and their ride.
Although Hayden looks extremely uncomfortable, he actually loved wearing his life jacket.
My Guys!
Bri in all his glory after he built his sand castle or pit of some sort.
I was able to go on boat rides so here I am enjoying my time away from the houseboat.
Brian did a little cliff diving. I recall doing that many years ago and not quite knowing that keeping your legs together is the proper way to do it. Needless to say, I remember being in pain for the rest of the day. Luckily Brian knew what he was doing!
Playing in the sand.

Oops, the water touched his toes. He was not a fan of the water until the 6th day of being there and then we couldn't get him to stop jumping in. Those pictures will come at a later date hopefully. They aren't on my camera but they are quite hilarious. He even started doing "back flips" which really consisted of him standing backwards and having me push him off the back of the houseboat.
Just hanging on the beach.
More waverunner rides. You can see the older kids taking a wienie ride in the background. Hayden called that, a plane.
