I'm alive!

So I am still alive. This blogging thing has fell by the wayside. I have SOOOOOO much to blog about and it's one of those things that I have gotten so far behind on, it feels helpless. I am still planning on blogging it all though.

For those who don't know, Brian's Dad passed away last week and his funeral was on Monday. We have had a lot of family stuff going on, not to mention anniversary, birthday, and all other sorts of stuff to keep me absolutely running wild.

I also don't have any computer time these days. Brian is now running his own marketing business and it requires him to be an absolute computer hog. I am on the other hand, exhausted and not getting much time to myself these days. I am currently being "yelled" at by a 6 month old. How is that possible by the way?

I did get my computer today so I have been trying to edit pictures until it froze and then the battery ran out. I give up. I am at my parent's house being bored stiff while Brian is working but I don't have any pictures so, dead end. Wow, anyways, I will try and update my 6 or so posts before leaving for Lake Powell next week. Whahoo, can I just say how excited I am to get OUT OF TOWN! It is aggravating to think about how long I have wanted-NEEDED, a vacation!

Happy 3rd Birthday Hayden!

I just wanted to wish my sweet little guy a Happy Birthday!  He brings so much happiness to our little family.  I can't even imagine life without him.  He keeps us laughing and smiling all the time.  I absolutely CANNOT believe he is 3!  Time really does fly when you're having fun.  I wish I could freeze my kids at certain ages but I have to realize they need to progress just like everyone else.  I look forward to each stage they go through.  Hayden is accomplishing so many new things and he continually amazes me with things he says and does.  Happy Birthday, Birthday Boy!

We love you Hayden!

Growing pains

Poor little Hayden has been getting some pretty bad leg aches due to growing pains. The other night while he was just sitting on my bed, he just started screaming out of nowhere and was holding his leg. He told me it was hurting again. I tried to logically explain to him why it was hurting. I told him that when we grow, sometimes it aches and hurts. He thought about it and said this through his tears, "I don't want my leg to grow anymore," "I want my leg to stay little." I asked him if he needed anything to make it feel better and he said, "No Mom, I don't need anything." So sweet. I felt so bad for him.

He also told me that he probably ate too many skittles and that he wasn't feeling good. I had just said this a few minutes before that. Too funny.

Growing and growing up can be tough!

Spring Activities

Hayden has had a couple trips down to Thanksgiving point for some fun outings. He first went with my dad to the dinosaur museum. He has been wanting to go for a long time. He only knows what a dinosaur museum is because Caillou (character from his favorite cartoon) goes to one. Hayden loves dinosaurs and enjoyed his time with his Papa. He did have a hard time walking past the stuffed sharks. It took a lot of coaxing from my Dad. I love my Dad and love the fact he took a day off of work to spend time with his little buddy. I have some pictures of this outing but they are on my mom's camera. I will have to get them off at a later time.

I took Hayden down to the petting zoo at Thanksgiving point shortly after that. Of course, when he saw where we were he wanted his Papa. Our friends came with us, so Max was a great companion to have that day. Hayden was so funny with his "feed." While Max was so generous to the animals, Hayden was extremely stingy. I ended up having to secretly throw away half the bag because there was no way he was going to throw the rest to the animals before we left!
Smile! Giddy Up Sheep! I think they were more interested in the fake thing.
Hanging out by some smelly animals.
Buds!My cute little guys.
This was the closest we got to the tulips down at Thanksgiving Point. I didn't want to pay a ton of money to see them, but I would have liked to see more of them. Thanks mom for coming along and helping us out!
Hayden loves riding ponies. Well, I guess it's only his second time, but he likes it.
He wanted to "do it myself." I had to step a few feet back and let him enjoy the ride.Random thought: Have you ever been watching a sitcom or some show on T.V. and always wonder where the baby of the family is all the time? Well, I don't leave that us to the imagination. Here he is. I always try and take some pictures of Teagan even if he doesn't give a crap about where we are or what we are doing.

Teagan 5 months

So, it is the 12th of May and I am barely getting around to blogging about Teagan being 5 months. It was the 24th of April. He is growing so fast. I stepped on the scale and while I will leave the total number off this post I will subtract what I weight and tell you he weighed in at 16.8 pounds. He is very tall too but am not sure the exact measurements. He is just comparatively tall compared to some of the other babies in the area. Teag is sitting up on his own but has decided to forget how to roll. Oh well, not important right? He is very vocal at times and can say "momma" and "dadda." I don't actually believe he knows quite what he is saying yet but when he wants to eat it is definitely the "momma." I love it. He also started taking occasional baths with Hayden. He still loves Hayden sooooo much. He doesn't have to work hard at all to get him to smile or laugh. Teagan just has a look in his eyes when he is looking at someone he loves. He is my little pal. If he can see me, smell me, or just be with me, he is content with everything else. He is a pure mommy's boy. Here are some pictures from his 5 month photo shoot.

Some funny Haydenisms

Hayden has turned into quite the little "almost" 3 year old. He sure keeps me laughing and sometimes frustrated. I still love him more than anything and wouldn't trade him for the world. Here are a couple conversations or things he has told me lately:

Hayden: "I won't poo in the tub mom"
Me: "Thanks"
Hayden: "Because I love you"

Hayden: "I want ice cream"
Me: "Should we go home and get some?"
Hayden: "No, I don't want to go home, I want to go to the ice cream PARLOR!" ???????

Hayen says this quite frequenty now: "Mom, you are NOT my friend. Daddy is your friend, Teagan is your friens, I am not your friend."

Hayden: "You are my best everything."-the friend one came shortly after.

In church he started shouting out while playing with batman that batman needed "booboo's." I kept telling him to please be quite until he resorted to just saying loudly, "boobs, boobs, boobs!"- this is not a much talked topic at our house but I guess feeding Teagan is enough.

Hayden: "Are you happy mom?"
Me: "Yeah, are you happy?"
Hayden: "No, I am frustrated because I want my binkie!" -He often checks to see if I am happy when he knows full well that I am not. This time I was. Also, the binkie has got to go and I asure you it will be gone before his birthday rolls around. It has become such a fight even if he only has it while he sleeps.

He always tells us when stuff is "larlious" - "hilarious."

Hayden: "You want to watch The Office or The Girls (Gilmore Girls)?-He knows what I like!

He informed me the other day that I looked like a Giraffe with all my freckles.

I recently have started putting the boys in the tub together. I have been waiting for this day to come. It makes things a whole lot easier and faster. One day while they were in the tub Hayden said to Teagan, "What's up Homie, What's up Homie Teag?" I thought that was pretty hilarious!

I just love this kid. He comes up with the funniest stuff!

Easter

Easter this year was funner as is all Holidays with a toddler who actually understands and appreciates the things you do for them. I woke up on Saturday morning wondering if I should attempt the traditional morning egg hunt. First off, I wish it was an actual egg hunt instead of a candy explosion on a field of wet grass. I wasn't going to go because the weather wasn't that great, Brian was of course working, and it was early. I started feeling guilty because I remember the hunts as a kid. It was a tradition. So much that I even prayed as a kid one rainy morning that the rain would stop just long enough for the egg hunt to be held. Low and behold, my prayers were answered and I was one happy kiddo. I thought that just because Brian couldn't come, I should still make things fun for my kids and carry on some traditions. I woke a sleeping Hayden, got the 3 of us ready, and Brian called and told me he had got off early. I was so excited. Because we weren't running as early as I had thought, I dropped of Hayden and Brian so I could go park. Just as I was about to the field, the fire engine siren went off. I missed the action. Of course! Oh well, I guess. After the hunt, we met the Gardners at Village Inn for some delicious breakfast. Fun Day.

On Sunday we woke up, did the whole basket, egg finding, ate breakfast, and rushed to get ready for church. I decided not to rush and get ready for 9:00 church. Instead, we took our time and then went to my parents ward for Sacrament meeting. I just had to show off my boys in their matching seersucker jackets. Later on my mom did her Easter for Hayden and the rest of us. It was a good day.

Oh yes, I am very grateful for the true meaning of Easter as well.
It would have been ideal if Hayden had actually been in the right age group. Leave it to a man to just go to the first group he sees and not even bother noticing all the kids are HUGE! I don't know why exactly he decided to take a picture of him standing by the sign!
Once he got the hang of it, he kind of liked the idea.
Free Candy!
Anyone who knows Hayden knows this face. It is the whiny, "HELP ME" face. Cute though.
Smile!
Sunday morning. Here is his loot.Teagan in on the action. Mostly just watching Hayden. He did get a basket but he didn't feel like finding any eggs.
Hayden searching high and low.I think he found a total of 43 eggs. Not bad!During breakfast I looked over to find Teagan's loot on top of him in the swing. Thank you Hayden! He thought it was tasty.Family photo time. Ahh, matchy matchy. This is Hayden with his Spider from Grandma. He has a really weird love/hate relationship with spiders and bugs lately. He talks constantly about them, asks if you like them, tells you they're nice, etc. As soon as he actually sees one, he clings onto you for dear life, screams like a girl, and refuses to let you put him down. My two brothers in the mission field have both sent home pictures that have interested Hayden. Jon had a dead tarantula on his shoulder (totally out of his element) and when we told Jeremy how much he loved this picture, he sent of picture of a crab on his head (totally in his element). Hayden is imitating both of them.We dyed Easter eggs at my moms house the week before and Hayden got to find them on Easter. He loves all the attention he gets at my parents house.
